How to use Bing or ChatGPT as a Windows app

The popularity of AI-powered chat and search applications is on the rise at the moment, but there is a little issue: Because they operate in browsers, users must visit each site separately. What if you didn’t have to, though? The brand-new Bing with AI, ChatGPT and Google’s Bard search engine can saved in Windows as apps and use accordingly. We’ll demonstrate it to you.

What makes a difference? Simply pinning a web application to the Start menu will cause ChatGPT or Bing to launch in a new browser tab by default. If you save it as a Windows application, it can save as a separate browser window without tabs or bookmarks. Both techniques can save the website inside the primary Start shortcut menu, but only the other technique can add the website to the list of programmers, from which it can be rapidly started by pressing Win+R. We prefer to save ChatGPT, Bing, or any other AI software as an application.

When Google Bard opens, all of these procedures ought to apply to Bing, ChatGPT, and even that platform.

How to save ChatGPT or new Bing as a Windows application:

  • The time needed to finish: one minute.
  • Tools necessary: None.
  • Materials needed: Microsoft Edge-installed Windows 10 or 11 computer.
  • Price: Free.

1. Go to Bing.com, ChatGPT, or another website using the Microsoft Edge web browser.

For both Google and Edge, this phase is the same. Visit Bing’s website at https://www.bing.com. Click on ChatGPT and go to https://chat.openai.com/chat. Once Google Bard’s website is operational, you may also access it.

Of course, all of this is presuming that you have access to these sites. You have to get on a queue before using Bing if the free version of ChatGPT is frequently overloaded.

2. Simply click the little Chat icon to be taken to the Bing chat interface. Swipe up as an alternative.

The ChatGPT URL we provided in the preceding step will lead you directly to the AI program. At least for the time being, Bing has to take an additional step to get there.

3. Create a Windows app.

Only Microsoft Edge supports this technique. To see more options, click the ellipsis menu (…) in the top right corner.

When you reach Apps on the main menu, choose “Install this site as an app.”

When you do, you’ll be prompted to give your “app” a name and choose whether you want it saved to the Start menu, the Taskbar, or both.

4. The saved program will show up on Edge’s Start menu.

Your Start shortcuts and the app drawer will both display the stored app. As programs are listed alphabetically in the app drawer and at the bottom of the shortcut menu, you might need to scroll down to discover them. If you know what your program’s name is, you can always start it fast by pressing the Windows key and the name of the app, or by using the Windows + R keyboard combination to open a quick-launch window.

The app could default to the primary Bing search bar even if you save it inside the chat window.

5. Then, Bing or Chat GPT will show up as an app.

Congratulations now your Bing or Chat GPT app is ready to serve you.

6. As we do with ChatGPT, you can also add the app to your Microsoft Edge Start menu.

At this point, you must once more select the ellipsis menu (…) in the top right, then scroll down to More Tools > Pin to Start.

The website will then be added to your Start menu shortcuts, but not to your app drawer when you do this. To utilize ChatGPT, Bing, or Bard, all you have to do is fish them out of the shortcuts when you need to.

7. Create a “shortcut” in Chrome for ChatGPT or Bing.

With one exception, Chrome uses distinct language to carry out identical tasks. With the choice to open a new window or not, Chrome will let you establish a “shortcut” to the application. We can save this shortcut as an extra tab in this instance and open when you click on it by default.

Another option is to save it in a separate window, which nearly saves it as an application.

There is nothing further to say. Enjoy using Bing or ChatGPT!

Are Bing and ChatGPT properties similar?

According to Microsoft, the new OpenAI big language model powering Bing is “more potent than ChatGPT and tailored exclusively for search.” More accurate replies can made possible by new technologies and learnings from ChatGPT and GPT-3.5.

The firm will employ LaMDA technology to provide customers with a more conversational result, while Google has already revealed a similar improvement to its Search engine.

Users will only need to search a small number of websites as a result, which is advantageous. Then, depending on the online search results, AI will respond to you.

Microsoft President and CEO Satya Nadella stated in the post that “AI will profoundly disrupt every software category, starting with the most popular category of all – search” about the development. Microsoft revealed a long-term agreement with OpenAI last month in the form of a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar investment.
